Located in Longzhong, Xiangyang, Hubei, the Zhuge Liang Thatched Theater is recognized as Asia’s largest thatched-cottage style theater. Standing 23 meters tall with an outer diameter of 70 meters, this circular multi-story building draws design inspiration from the traditional thatched cottage of Zhuge Liang. The facade adopts bamboo and thatch decorative cladding, recreating the rustic charm of ancient dwellings, while the main structure uses modern steelwork for stability and safety. It is a semi-outdoor venue built for large-scale live performances, integrating the Three Kingdoms history and eco landscape architecture. This landmark combines historical culture and natural building aesthetics, demonstrating how bamboo and thatch-style decoration can be applied to large cultural performance buildings.
